Kurt Engbrecht, RMT (NHPC)

Kurt is a Massage Therapist with 14 years experience, a graduate of the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies Inc. in 2002. He has recently completed 5 years of study in Traditional Osteopathy through the Canadian College of Osteopathy.

Kurt's massage treatments are osteopathic in approach. Treatments are designed to discover, assess and treat the primary and secondary dysfunctions in the body in order to allow all structures their proper mobility. Kurt's treatments are very holistic in nature and requires a focused and complete assessment each treatment so that assumptions are not made about the patients condition. Treatment techniques include myofascial release, joint mobilization, cranial/sacral, Muscle energy, visceral manipulation, and strain/counterstrain.

Kurt has done continuing education courses in Cranial-Sacral treatment, joint mobilization, fascial integration, and Kinesio taping.

Neil Prasher, RMT, NHPC

Neil is a Massage Therapist with 18 years experience, a graduate of the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy Inc. In 1998.

Neil's treatment focus is in Myofascial Pain Syndromes, and Trigger Point Treatment. Neil's treatments work to correct soft tissue damage that is the result of Repetitive or Cumulative strain Injury. This includes Orthopedic Assessment and Education of the Patient, Deep tissue work, with specifics on Trigger points.

Neil has done continuing Education courses in Kinesio Taping, Proprioceptive Taping and awareness, Manual lymphatic Drainage Basic Level, and Ortho bionomy 1st Level.

Andrea Wiens, RMT, MTAM

Andrea joined the Winnipeg Muscle Therapy Clinic after graduating with distinction from the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy Inc.

Andrea is a massage therapist with 7 years experience. She joined the Winnipeg Muscle Therapy Clinic after graduating with distinction from the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy Inc. in 2011. She is currently furthering her studies with the Canadian College of Osteopathy.

Andrea's treatments focus on the correction of muscle imbalances and soft tissue dysfunctions. She performs orthopedic assessments with an osteopathic approach to formulate treatment plans along with client education. Her approach includes deep tissue work with traditional massage techniques, myofascial release, joint mobilization, cranial/sacral and muscle energy techniques.

Andrea has taken continuing education in somatic exercise, pre/post sports massage, therapeutic ultrasound and electrical stimulation, cranial/sacral, myofascial integration and is continually learning new techniques through the Canadian College of Osteopathy.

Rebecca Spence, RMT, MTAM

Rebecca is a Registered Massage Therapist and current Student of Osteopathy. Rebecca joined the Winnipeg Muscle Therapy Clinic in 2013, after graduating with honours from the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. From there she was accepted to the Canadian College of Osteopathy and is currently in her fifth and final year of studies. Rebecca has also taken Cranial and Fascial Integration courses for continuing education. Rebecca believes it is important to assess the whole body in order to find the cause of a dysfunction, as opposed to simply treating a symptom. A first treatment with Rebecca will include a full osteopathic-based assessment and history taking. From there she will discuss with the patient the imbalances she has found and create a treatment plan for consecutive sessions. The main goal for treatment is to find harmony in the body. This may be achieved through joint mobilizations, cranial-sacral integrations, visceral techniques, myofascial release, or deep tissue massage therapy. Rebecca is currently taking new patients for either Deep Tissue Massage Therapy services or Osteopathic-based Approach Treatments.

Stefan Dirks, RMT, B.A Kin., MTAM

Stefan is a Massage Therapist. His recent studies were through the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba where he graduated in 2017. Prior to that he graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology.

Stefanís treatments focus on injury assessment, management and rehabilitation as well as identifying and treating muscular imbalances and dysfunctions. The goal is to achieve better tissue health and improve body kinematics. This includes orthopedic assessment and client education to attain better results beyond the treatment room. Stefan uses advanced myofascial techniques, joint mobilizations, trigger point therapy, functional muscle release and traditional soft tissue massage. Additionally, he has seven years of experience in shoe fitting and footwear mechanics.

Stefan has taken continuing education courses in K-Taping, Contemporary Cupping Methods and is continually learning new techniques.
